You will also need protective gear such as a mask to prevent you from inhaling the harmful fumes of a can of paint that is not water-based and goggles to protect your eyes.

Part Replacements

There are many parts of the house that you can replace, and they are easier than you think. Have you been thinking about replacing your doorknobs? There is no need for you to hire someone to do that for you. Most can be easily replaced, and all you need is a screwdriver. It does take a bit of effort to disassemble, but having a new lock could mean a lot when it comes to security.

You can also try to replace your faucets if they are rusty and long in the tooth. You will need a few items like a vice grip and some plumber’s tape. Just make sure to close the main valve first if you want to do this, or else you will have to contend with gushing water and a very wet floor.

Floor Repair

The great thing about tiles and vinyl floor panels is that they usually come in standard shapes and sizes. This means that you can have them replaced without having to do a lot of measuring. As long as you have the right size, you’re golden. You also need the proper adhesive here. For the vinyl, solvent glue should do it. For tiles, you can mix up a small batch of cement. You can also use this if you want to patch up cracked stair steps and walls. For larger jobs, look for bulk super glue from Gluegun.

Wood Working

Repairing indoor and outdoor furniture, applying edgebanding, finishing decks, or upgrading cabinets can be a breeze with hot melt adhesives. Hot melt sets quickly but is easy to clean up and remove. It even works well as a clamp, giving you greater flexibility for more detailed painting or carving on top surfaces. Outdoor and indoor glues are equally effective binders. In fact, the wood will break before the bond!
