Your support will help Team Florida accomplish its goal of designing and building an affordable zero energy house to display on the mall in Washington, D.C. during the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2011. The house will also be used as a learning center on the USF Tampa Campus to help achieve our long term goal of educating the public about energy efficient, environmentally friendly buildings and renewable energy sources.

As a major public event, the Solar Decathlon 2011 is expected to draw significant worldwide media attention and reach thousands of consumers.  The Solar Decathlon 2009:

• Drew more than 300,000 house visits at the National Mall
• Reached  175 million readers through online and print coverage
• Received coverage in hundreds of newspapers and magazines across the U.S.

Team Florida’s participation in Solar Decathlon 2011 will pool the creativity, resources, and innovation of students and faculty from USF, UF, FSU and UCF.  We welcome support at all levels and invite individuals, friends, and alumni to “join the team!”
